🎛️ Behind the Cover: How We Engineered the Perfect Fit for the Bose F1 Array

At SoundCover, we don’t just make covers — we engineer protection. And when we took on the challenge of building a custom cover for the Bose F1 Model 812 and Subwoofer array, we knew one thing: standard wouldn’t cut it.

This is a powerhouse system. The Bose F1 is a go-to rig for mobile sound professionals, DJs, event companies, and touring techs. It’s modular, powerful — and not exactly easy to protect. That’s where we came in.

🧩 The Challenge: Covering Two Pieces, One Clean Setup

The F1 system stacks the Model 812 loudspeaker on top of the F1 Subwoofer, with a telescoping post in between. Unlike typical powered speakers, the design doesn’t offer obvious mounting points or flat geometry.

To create covers that protected both parts without interfering with the setup, we needed to think vertically — and flexibly.

🛠️ The Design Process

We started by analyzing every curve and port of the Bose F1 stack. Since detailed CAD drawings weren’t available, we reverse-engineered from field dimensions and tested measurements on actual units.

The result:

• A two-piece custom cover system

• Made from rugged 600D weather-resistant polyester

• Reinforced with double stitching for field use

• Available with our signature SoundFlap™ front panel on the top speaker

Each cover is designed as “Over the Top” — open at the bottom to fit while stacked or on stands, and easy to install at the gig.

🎧 Performance First: Why the SoundFlap™ Matters

The top speaker cover features a roll-up SoundFlap™, giving you the option to keep your gear protected even during use. Just roll the flap up over the speaker grille, secure it, and you’re ready to go — no need to take the cover off between sets or during soundcheck.

This is especially valuable for:

• Outdoor events where weather might shift quickly

• Dusty stages, mobile DJ setups, or high-traffic venues

For the Subwoofer cover, we added:

• A large rear utility flap for power and signal cables

• A snug fit to avoid dragging or bunching when moving on wheels

• Reinforced corners and a clean, no-logo look for professional setups
